I was fortunate to get asked by the jazz band "Diaspora" to design their latest album cover. The album was created and recorded in Cologne, which gave the album it title and became the main inspiration for this illustrative piece.

One of my favorite parts was the character design, based on the actual musicians. In contrast to the background I worked here with outlines. The colors were kept slightly desaturated to match the rural spirit of cologne.
